Teardrop Monument Circle Ornament
The Soldiers & Sailors Monument is the centerpiece of Monument Circle in Indianapolis, Indiana. Standing 284 feet, 6 inches (just 15 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty), it has come to symbolize both the City of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.
Designed by German Architect Bruno Schmitz and constructed from 1888 to 1901, the monument was dedicated on May 15, 1902. It is the Indiana official memorial to Hoosiers who served in the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the American Civil War, the Frontier Wars and the Spanish-American War.
5.5" tall. Resin base with a glass, teardrop-shaped globe and a red ribbon for hanging. "Snow" inside, around the base of the monument.
