The Papers of William Henry Harrison, 1800-1815
The Society released the first three reels of this ten-reel microfilm set in 1993. Now interested individuals and institutions may purchase the complete set, which includes a printed guide.
In every respect, the microfilm edition of Harrison's Papers, edited by Douglas E. Clanin and staff, supersedes Logan Esarey's two-volume printed edition published by the Indiana Historical Commission in 1922. The microfilm edition comprises annotated transcriptions for more than 3,600 documents, many of them never before published. Collected from public and private repositories, private collections, and printed sources, the edition includes Harrison's official and personal correspondence, business records, and pivotal Indian treaties that Harrison and Native American leaders signed between 1803 and 1815.
The Papers of William Henry Harrison, 1800-1815, covers the most important years of Harrison's public career: 1800-1812: Governor of the Indiana Territory. 1804-1805: Governor of the District of Louisiana. 1812-1814: Commander of the United States Northwest Army, War of 1812
This definitive edition is an invaluable resource for students of nineteenth-century American history.
